On Wednesday evening we celebrated our annual Boarders’ Bonfire Night.
After the torrential rain and howling winds experienced on the touchline earlier in the afternoon, the clouds cleared and we were treated to perfectly still conditions in which to enjoy the festivities. Senior boarders from each patrol carried out the traditional lighting of the bonfire which took remarkably quickly considering how wet it must have been!
The children then all had great fun with their sparklers whilst watching a tremendous display of fireworks. We all reconvened in the dining room for hot chocolate and soup to round off another really special evening.
As Matisse, one of our international boarders, said, "It was AWESOME!"
Huge thanks must be given to the catering staff for the food; the ground staff for the bonfire and fireworks and to the art department for another fantastic guy atop the bonfire.
