Years 5 - 8 were treated to a talk by Andy Briggs, who is a screenwriter, graphic novelist, author and conservationist. He's written on movie projects for Paramount Pictures, Spiderman creator Stan Lee and legendary producer Robert Evans. He has worked on TV projects for Syfy, Netflix, ITV and Amazon and works between the UK, US and China. .
Andy is a dynamic, energetic and engaging speaker. Not only did he talk about his writing but also about becoming a writer. The pupils found out about the different professions connected with writing and how interesting they are. He also loves drones and informed the groups about the exciting experiences that can be had operating drones. On Twitter he has a competition to win a copy of some special edition stickers, his latest book, Drone Racer, and a micro drone - closes on Friday 14th September.
The year 5 – 8s were provided with so many ideas about opportunities to write and read. They all took something away from the sessions.
