Each year, Westbourne supports specific charities; usually an international, national and local organisation, which are chosen by the children.

Last year (2014-15) we raised an amazing £28,000 for charity!  This sum includes money raised for our three school charities - Parents & Carers Support Organisation, Dwarf Sports Association UK and War Child - together with the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.  That is something for the school community to feel very proud about.

This year (2015-16) we are supporting one local, two national and one international charity:

  • The Elizabeth Foundation (www.elizabeth-foundation.org) - based in Cosham near Portsmouth, the charity helps pre-school deaf children learn to listen and talk.
  • The Brain Tumour Charity/The Silas Pullen Fund (www.thebraintumourcharity.org) - Raising funds in memory of Silas, an 11 year old boy who sadly died after an 18 month battle with a brain tumour.  The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain cancer and helps the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families.
  • The Royal British Legion: 14-18 Legacy (branches.britishlegion.org.uk)- Young people across the UK and beyond are aiming to raise one million pounds for the Royal British Legion between 2014-18.  Every pound raised helps the Royal British Legion support wounded, injured and sick service men and women from all three services.  The charity also helps to support their families.
  • United World Schools (www.unitedworldschools.org) - This charity creates educational opportunity for children living in the world's poorest regions.  Money raised by Westbourne will rebuild a school in Mude village, Nepal.
