Mr Martin Barker, Headmaster
Westbourne House School
Shopwyke, Chichester, West Sussex PO20 2BH
Each year, Westbourne supports specific charities; usually an internation, national and local organisation, which are chosen by the children.
Last year we raised over £31,000 which was donated amngst PSDS, The Smile Train and The Cambodian Landmine Relief Centre. In addition to this we ale raised money for Winston’s Wish, Children in Need and the Royal British Legion, as well as providing generous food donations to the Chichester Food Bank to help the homeless and local families who are in crisis. The money raised was primarily from events organised by parents and staff as well as fundraising initiatives from the children themselves.
This year we are supporting two local, one national and one international charity:
- The Friends of the Aldingbourne Trust - a local charity that supports adults with learning difficulties across Sussex.
- St Wilfrid's Hospice - offers specialist palliative care to people in our local community.
- Macmillan Cancer Care - improves the lives of people suffering from cancer.
- School in a Bag - a simple solution created to help poor, orphaned, vulnerable and disaster affected children throughout the world. Each School Bag is filled with stationery equipment and resources that will enable a child to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves and above all learn.
